If you want to understand what motivates humans, read Drive by Daniel H. Pink
David Whyte has offered me solace, clarity and aha moments through his poetry for a long time.
Start anywhere. One of my favorite Whyte poems is in this little gem, Start Close In
Anna Funder is one of my most loved Australian writers and I did really love the first third of her book Wifedom.
This biographical story of George Orwell and his wife Eileen becomes quite dense and in some ways disturbing.
Whilst I struggled a bit with this book, it did have me wanting to re-read Orwell’s books.
My Salinger Years by Joanna Rakoff is autobiographical. Maybe if I’d read Catcher in the Rye first I might have appreciated this strange tale a little more.
