I am still processing The Myth of Normal by Gabor Maté, there is so much to reflect on and process.
Holiday reading also gave way to watching as I launched into season 1 of Succession – no spoilers please!
Isabel Allende’s book The Soul of a Woman is a reflection on the growing power of women in a world that needs more nurturing and less war. I felt like I was sitting at the feet of a wise mentor who was sharing generations of women’s wisdom. A call to action for sure.
The Candy House by Jennifer Egan is like nothing else I have read. I needed to concentrate, pause, practice my curiosity and be present as I read this novel. An exploration of what consciousness, unconscious thought, meaning, memory, authenticity and relationship mean.
Between The Candy House, The Myth of Normal and women’s nurturing collective power I might not have the cognitive or emotional space to read anything in July!!!! 😉
